Thanks for putting this up Ellie. I looked at social movements sometime back but from a more real-politik perspective; I'll have to think a bit about what I can input in relation to an economic or political economic point of view. Nevertheless, I always have a feeling that social movements will narrow down onto a single issue as opposed to being "holistic", because their emergence is mainly necessitated by a particular socio-political dysfunction.
