I meet Wael over at Global Mind Shift and we continued a discussion at a ning site Wael set up at Global Brain Application Set Up.

Wael is Palestinian and living in Germany. He has developed a project that he hopes to take back to Palestine that he developed out of the discussions mentioned. I am inviting him here to describe his project.

This will be Wael's first discussion here - so I hope Ned will give him a warm welcome.

Thank for the assistance David.
Well my visionary project-idea is about:
a vision to establish a broad cooperative for Holstic Green Business as "stretched"-Community Development Aggregator toward Building sustainable "(global) Palestine".
This presentation give an impression about the topic.
http://www.speedyshare.com/62819 8388.html
as well as the article on wiser-earth
http://www.wiserearth.org/resour ce/view/f529bcd0176bb10a8898c781 88534d71

Building broad modular network of green-products/soft-industry-parks in Palestinian rural areas
reconstruction of indigenous communities
establish cooperation environment to build a young nationslooking for self-determination, ..
Stimulate back-immigration movement of professionals to construct the project and ideas included by global eyes (Building Palestine Movment).
Why stretched-community: Business and products should contain a social-franchising concept with Palestinian communities in diaspora.

Priorities:
To write the mission and vision of the project-idea as neutral-paper without my personal story. Based on the letter, we can start building foundation, look for political support, create a web-site (something like http://www.desertec.org/),..

My weaknesses:
I do not belong to any party or organization.
I am creative co-creator and not disciplined in any field.
I am not good writer. English is not my native language.

Current status:
I am returning to my home town in PA territories, Jenin this year mid of August.
The idea is in fuzzy crowding phase. You can speak about it the way you want.
I have opened many thread in this group about the idea:
http://palestine1network.ning.co m/group/holisticgreenbusinessing lobalpalestine

I hope this is enough to star constructive discussion.

thank you very much in advance for you support ..
Wael

Thanks all. I am taking the train today to http://bit.ly/i5xIJ ..
I just walk up with following thought.
Tell me if I am right or wrong: instead of criticizing politician and cooperations about the way they manage and rule, why not to be the change we want to be and establish our own global corporation for holistic green economy and use the laws and rights exist by WTO etc and provide new alternatives for us and the masses?

What I observe the last years that the whole groups are calling for other better world, talking about the same thing in different languages etc., are trying to be the winner and do not manage to build holistic synergy in their common aspirations.
I think Economy is the key!

If I manage to seed the idea in Palestine, I will do my best to establish green-business coalitions with Jordan, Egypt, .. I think a global coalition for green-business can extract the needed foundation to establish new-art green global corporation.

I do not know VIPs to present them my ideas ..

I received the notion of "Dynamic Alignment" from Arthur Brock. Have you had any correspondence with him? He's a good friend. His latest work (along with Eric Harris-Braun and others) is on this site: http://metacurrency.org/

Well worth a look.

Regarding global coalitions ... do we really need to convince any of the VIPs for us to undertake this change in ourselves? They are much more likely to follow the trends as they attain critical mass (if they are good leaders, or if not, they'll actively obstruct).

But yes, I agree - I wish to avoid painting others as straw men .. and to be aware of good intentions behind many actions I find ill-advised in the grand scheme of things. We all have a lot of healing to do.

John Powers gave me the link to Greening the Desert maybe a year ago and I have been linking to it in different discussions ever since. One of my volunteers at the Boulder Garden had studied permaculture with Geoff Lawton in Australia - and I wouldn't have known who Geoff Lawton was except he said he was the producer of Greening the Desert.

I just think that there is this huge benefit to combining the power of biological potential with the potential of solar power in the desert (along with opportunity for humans to do what they need to thrive) in terms of so many of our problems . . . the problem being we are used to listening to experts who are only expert in one field or the other . . .

That is why I like Wael's idea of assembling the ex patriot Palestinian professionals to design a new way for the Palestinians.

hi all,

I just came back from this conference http://ott09.aspirationtech.org/ index.php/Main_Page
amazing event!

I am so tiered to answer all of the comments. Please lets gather ideas how you can you help me to prepare my project-idea for kick-off.
MM, the last world I wrote before I left was "VIPs" above and I regret that over the whole days. Even I was meaning the green-movement gurus , etc-
FYI I did the translation for meta-currency video into Arabic ;). The Sub-Title guy was at the conference -- the world is really small!

David, your work is very important especially when it comes to develop a living business model. And for sure I am looking forward for your support and glad for it already :)

The main though is the following: To see holistic-green-business "HGB" as key for postmodern open participatory free economy and work on it NOW. I would ask the whole theorists and 21-century thinker to start practical initiative in building business coalitions, research and development synergy, open source ICT-solutions around HGB.

About my project in Palestine: It is hard to shift people thinking in new way (check http://palestine1network.ning.co m/xn/detail/2054063:Comment:6901 ?xg_source=activity).
Here I need lot of support, special political one ~

Any interest to join weekly meeting to help pushing the idea forward?

Yes, there are lots of theorists and 21-century thinkers opining on what others "should do". Including me in many respects - but I try to also experiment with employing my ideas. Perhaps your term "HGB" will have more traction than "economies of integration" which may be more descriptive but has less resonance.

I know you like to have real time interaction - it is not my preferred approach - so I will join a weekly meeting (subject to technical feasibility) if you think it will help you. What I would like is a forum with participation from people actually building holistic-green-businesses. I would like to build the functionality of Local Organizing and the Planetary Mind.

Thanks, Wael, for the link to the Tamera website. Great stuff there.

Do you have any links with the Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAPPI) in the occupied territories? I'm not that well informed, and perhaps I'm being a bit harsh, but it seems to me that their work may lack a consistent focus on positive change - too much emphasis perhaps on documenting and publicising injustices (sounds odd maybe, but perhaps their approach is a little too reactive?)

I should have thought that your creative and proactive approach to peace-building would appeal to them.

David - I often think of the intent behind the story you propose (maybe as the equivalent of truth)... and the aspiration to write something, and get others involved in that vision-making. Not wanting to divert too much from this thread -- but the invitational mode is such a challenge on both sides .. in the inviting and in recieving the invitation and responding to the invitation with sincerity, them the accepting of the response and moving towards deep collaboration -- all take time and are precious, even more precious than time. I suppose this does relate to the Wael thread ... in that Wael desires collaborators for his work. (He and I chatted briefly over the weekend.)

So many of us continue to work alone (which is why I started the other thread around the concept of "our being neither alone nor unique in our efforts") ...

I am not sure which other thread you are referring to but I understand the concept. All of our stories are one dimensional (the struggle of the individual against the world) or two dimensional (the struggle of the good group against the evil group). There are no stories - and therefore as John suggests - no understanding - of our three dimensional reality.

There being only one system that supports everything that exists, each choice either contributes to the health of the system or detracts from it - there are no win-lose situations - only win-win and lose-lose - so we cannot defeat evil.

I am not so much interested in a joint project with others as with a way to compare notes with others who are also exploring this understanding of three dimensional space. The actual new bridges that we could build will necessarily be local bridges. I think Wael is proposing such an exploration.

Guys, how can I be notified when new comments come in?? I have this discussion on my "my wash list" !

David Bale said:

Do you have any links with the Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAPPI) in the occupied territories? I'm not that well informed, and perhaps I'm being a bit harsh, but it seems to me that their work may lack a consistent focus on positive change - too much emphasis perhaps on documenting and publicising injustices (sounds odd maybe, but perhaps their approach is a little too reactive?)

Thanks David B. for being linked to my aspirations!
I put EAPPI on my potential supporter and partner list.

One of the indirect objectives of my project is to bring the masses to create new realities without being tracked with the 2DN issue/question, which political group is behind this or that, but to use open green economy to let their thinking thread move softly (transformation) to "what we can approach together*"

The project I am stalking is a concrete idea! It can be slide down into small challenges and objectives all of you can contribute to knock down.
To be effective on this I want your help to guide my thoughts and look how you can support.
i am not good writer to write in gentle sensible way. So please trust me on my objectives, even I express any thing with primitive language that might look offended, even it is real not. I love all in our undivided ONENESS!

I have an idea how the idea can be moved forward to gain huge space from the infintie exsting space for c-creation.

If you are willing to help pls add me to your skype: wael.alsaad
Or send me an email: globalpalestine@gmail.com

I have posted relevant common here
http://www.mepeace.org/group/ret urntobuildpalestine

"Tamar, yes! I can not do the translation alone. This is the hardship when the mind is co-creation-mode and linking so many inter-connections and relations together can be co-created, the one who is an agent of co-creation is "powerless" alone, meanwhile strong to carry such a huge load of interconnectionness! So never expect from me to knock down the whole into easy "digested" slides.
What ever we DO together on this co-creation path is sustainable as any one else later can proceed on it, because the nature of the concept allowing this.

What is needed is really a committed group can push the fuzzy pattern-structure into a new pattern phase of living natural design, where we distribute the complexity on different interconnected sectors will dynamically move forward together.

There is other group willing to support /supporting the idea on NED
http://www.ned.com/group/communi ty-general/news/323/

Many would ask, what is the Purpose or the Vision?
If you scan the thread you will have a roughly idea about it.

Those who have relationship to it and have the time to cooperate will join the first meeting on defining "Purpose and Vision Statement" which will be communicated into the new phase of project-patterns-development.
For now this is the main mission. The core group and the statement.

THANKS! "

Ned will not send you an e-mail when a comment is posted in a discussion you are watching (only when someone sends you a private message). You have to log in periodically and discussions in your watch list with new comments will appear in bold.

You refer to 2DN, meaning two dimensional networking - the competition between groups of people where we find conflict in the system - and ask us to consider 'what can we approach together'. I have some materials based on someone in each community asking a similar question, 'what can we do to make our community a better place to live'.

I am playing with a new way to describe that difference in point of view in the discussion Living in Place. Please feel free to comment there as well.

John, I wrote half page as comment on your post, which has been gone because I was not able to get my pc in active mode after went to sleep mode :(
I wrote about the culture of attack between religious-religious and these and the none religious, seeing it all as the same culture of blaming.

About this thread: I see it is not moving into the a direct path to support the process of the idea. I think now it is really to get a statement of 2-3 lines about purpose and mission. I think to tune over SKYPE is fastest and best to proceed.

Hi Wael, I'm not sure what to say. Partly it's a matter that I know very little. I can't imagine what use I might be. That said, I know better than to predict in advance I'm useless, even when I suspect that's the case ;-)

I do have Skype downloaded onto my computer, but I hardly ever use it, so It's not often turned on. In any case I'm protoslacker. Probably the easiest way to alert me you're online is to send a brief message to my gmail which is powerful1`rus so I can turn on Skype. The servers there are busy at Skype right now so I couldn't search for you now.

Thank you for spending the time to leave a long comment even though it didn't take. LOL I deliberately didn't write here because what you're doing is so important and I don't mean to be a distraction. Anyhow, your taking the time for me means much.

Cris Abani has a couple of really wonderful talk at the TED site. Here he muses on humanity and the relationship of stories to it. More stories in this talk. What a story teller he is!

That's besides the point really. When you write:

I think now it is really to get a statement of 2-3 lines about purpose and mission.

I think what you're trying to do is to get a "hook" something to draw in others to the stories you'll tell. Some few words that will provide a narrative structure we can use to follow.

I like how you begin your story "Returning to Build new Palestine with global eyes." How to say the part about learning to let nature do most of the work is what I can't seem to come up with, but I think that part is essential to your story too. Then there's the explicit invitation to others to co-create the story.

I love it Wael :-) Skype me if you can think of anything I might have to offer. Meanwhile I'll be following what you do at Facebook and Twitter.

Dears,

before I forget, just I want to tell you that I need often some one to tell me what i might do best.
This is may be one of the main reason why I like very much to chat with others on bunch to get some conclusions.

Here is a list of some issues I am with:

work on purpose and mission

review current presentation and issue new version. we can do this over www.dimdim.com

Have some assistance in technology to create video presentation in Arabic and Eglish to upload on YouTube after 2.

So you can tell, what can you offer to help.

John, recently I have been asked to tell my story as Palestinian in Germany : http://globalpalestine.blogspot. com/2009/06/vortrag-zu-hause-in- israelpalastina-und.html
The Audience liked it. Nothing remain in the head of people better than stories.
I am often wondering which story the universe has to tell?
What is your SKYPE id?

warmly or cool thanks! :)

Currently I am formulating the abstract bellow. Can I have your feedback on it? After new formulation editing help is appreciated.

Abstract

The Palestinian collective nation-building and national-independence process faces huge challenges, due to immense political and geographical fragmentation. In spite of the lack of a common collective democratic basis, diverse cultural development took place the last 6 decades (since NAKBA) in the lives of Palestinians around the world makes this process very strained. This fragmentation has resulted in differing political stances that have prevented us from forming a unified front on which we can insure the individual and collective welfare of the Palestinian people.
This draft proposes alternative holistic model of social, economic and environmental reconstruction based on a “healing economy”, which insure positive change that recognizes and honors our indigenous roots and culture as Palestinians.
The vision of using the model of “holistic green healing economy” is self-empowering toward individual integrated comprehension of life and awaking the collective Palestinian consciousness . It is a model for the establishment of new foundations that will radically initiate a positive global attitude toward peace and social justice by embedding the change we want to see in economical design, using Economy as vehicle.
The target is to co-create a broad holistic cooperative network that encourages low-tech social cooperative green production. The network consist of modular green production cell-sites with intent to building synergy and integrate all resources in a way that operates in harmony with nature and comprehensive human needs.
