The Food Chain had a Friday morning conference call hosted by Luke Martin for well over a year and a half. Sometimes just Luke and me. We'd call in no matter where in the world we were, on vacation, etc. We'd have as many as 5-6 people on the call. John Berger was a frequent participant. Lars. Peter. Meron. Scott. Anne Marie. Cynthia. So many people called in every now and then.
It was a great way to connect real time. Helpful for those working alone and so nice to connect. We'd try to keep the call to under 30 minutes, and usually did just that.
The call would be a quick what are you working on this week, and how (if at all) can others on the call help you. Action and results focused. Sometimes just BSing too. Very loose and easy.
I'll dial in today in 45 minutes and see if anyone shows up (I think AMB may pop in)

Yes, every Friday at 8:30AM PT. I'll "host" to for now, meaning I'll always dial in and be on the line at 8:30AM PT. If there are enough people to warrant an afternoon call, we can try to sked that too.

Unfortunately, this time won't work for me. (Ironically, I had a conference call at 8:30 this morning and am on it right now!)
I'd love to connect this way in the future, but have work and kid-commute to juggle in the mix -- a little less morning flexibility than I had in the past.
