I've only got a few more tweaks before we go live again at lifeinafrica.com - get your free sneak preview over here: http://lifeinafrica.com/shop/cra fts/ - all those "add to cart links" should be live should you feel inclined to use them! I'll post again when I've got the home page up to tie it all together.
Meanwhile I could use some more help! I wanted to link to a couple of discussions about new programs in this group, but I don't have enough points. Should anyone be willing to start some new discussions for me I'd be ever so appreciative... I need 5 of them. Just start them with the title "spaceholder" and I'll go in and edit in the info that needs to be there. Many thanks in advance!

ok the home page is up now. and I am going to bed!
heading to Gulu tomorrow and will try to spend some more time tweaking from there.
It was really hard to get this up right now considering the "in-between stage" we're still at in many ways. The writing on some of the pages feels very flat to me... if any of you come across a page like that feel free to suggest a re-write! After Gulu I will definitely need to go back through each page to flesh them out a bit anyway.

I haven't looked all around, but it sure does look great. And with all the images it's amazing it loads ultra fast too. I love the shape of the Links on the sidebar--funny because I usually want them in a straight line. It's rare that a Web site opens up a whole world of engagement.
I'm very happy you put a link to the Uganda Links Wiki, it encourages me to continue to work on it. And it makes me feel valued :-)
Webbed Empowerment is a profound idea. I've heard it said in a matter of fact sort of way that depressed people actually have a better handle on the way things are than more optimistic people. Sometimes I just feel overwhelmed by the pressing problems we humans face. LiA offers a great gift for people, especially in America, to move from depression toward doing something. It's a model which we can use to begin solving more local challenges too.

I could still really use some help with writing better copy. If there is anywhere you think the text could/should be written with more zing, please feel free to make suggestions!
Shawn - thanks so much for your work on the new logo! I love the design but am wondering now that it's all put together if it's possible and/or useful to match the logo colors with the site more? what do y'all think?

Hmmm. Maybe next year when I have more time to fiddle with it we can coordinate on which color codes to use in both. Unfortunately, this template is still the one I've been using for years, and the way it's coded I'll have to make the changes page by page. I really wouldn't mind changing the overall color scheme if it seems useful for branding purposes, but I don't imagine having the time to think about doing that big of an overhaul until about May.
In the meantime, Shawn could it be worth playing with the logo colors so they matched the current site template better? I don't know how much work that involves (and I know you are busy selling beads for us!) I think it's the mismatch in the browns that bothers my own eye the most, and I'm missing the blue. I don't dislike the colors you've used at all, mind you. Just trying to see how we can merge it for maximum effect with what we already have. Would you mind playing with it a bit more?
