Loan description:

Adong Rose is an Acholi by tribe aged 30 years. She was forced to flee her home in the North due to the war and she lives in an IDP camp known as the Acholi Quarters. It was here that she met her husband who is Mucholi and they have been blessed by God with two children. She says she is afraid to return to the North until a firm peace agreement has been reached.

Like most Acholis in the camp she labors in the stone quarry to earn a living. She is also an active member of Life in Africa where she earns some money in the bead making program. She already owns her own plot in the quarry but would like to expand to earn more income

With this new business she will not only increase her own income but she will be able to create some jobs for other people living at the camp. She believes it is a good time to cash in on all the construction and renovation going on in Kampala right now. She plans to make two trip each month which will earn a profit of 50,000/= per trip after all expenses.

To do this she is seeking a loan in the amount of 250,000/= and she will be able to repay this loan in 6 months.

Below is her budget:

-Removing soil from pit…………………………50,000/=

-Extraction of 2 trips of stone…………………50,000/=

-Breaking …………………………………………30,000/=

-Breaking into aggregates ………………………..80,000/=

-Buying more tools like big hammer, 5 chisels…..40,000/=

Total ………………………………………………250,000/=
