Loan discription

Ayoo Lillian is an Acholi by tribe and was born in 1955. She is a married lady with four children. When the 20 year war in the north became unavoidable, life was so difficult as many lost their lives or were displaced. Lillian for fear of her life, had to take refugee in Kampala in August 2000. On her arrival in Kampala the only place to settle in is Acholi Quarters which is on one of the hills that the King of Buganda offered to them.

It was her first time to be in the city and the way of life became difficult. No cultivation for food, no barter or trade and no free things. To survive here you needed money and she had none. The option for Lillian was to involve her self in stone quarry activities that helped her generate some little capital . Then she found Life in Africa and she was able to earn some money participating in the craft programs.

Lillian now wants to supplement her income by starting a petty business as a fish monger. Fish is a big part of the diet and is always in demand so she is confident that she will be able to make a success. She is seeking a loan in the amount of 250,000/= and she will be able to repay this loan in 6 months.

Below is her budget:

Putting a shade………………………………………..30,000/=

Buying a container for keeping fish…………………10,000

Transport …………………………………………….10, 000/=

Buying fish ……………………………………….200, 000/=

Total………………………………………………250,000/=
