Akello Judith was born in 1976 in Paicoo sub county Unyama Parish in Gulu district. But currently she is in Pece Gulu Town. She has one child of her own and three dependents, two blood brothers and one blood sister whom she is caring for. Her husband died in 2002 of heart attack.

AT Lacoo hospital she learned the sign language and now she is teaching the deaf in the IDP camp. She was choosen among the volunteers to be trained in sign language and after her course, she applied for employment at AVSI Gulu and she was accepted. She is also a dramatist of mega FM under a programme called Rock point 256. Here their voices are recorded and put for people to listen and learn a lession. They perform concerts and dramas to teach community about the out break of other diseases and the danger of early pregnancy.

Even though she is very active, the income is not enough to sustain her family. She plans to open a fish monger business. Dried fish is in good demand and her sister will be able to help run the business. The extra money earned will greatly improve the standard of living for the family.
