Acaa Serata ia a resposible married woman with 8 children. She was born in 1962 from Nwoya sub -county -Gulu district in northern Uganda. Her husband is called Labongonye Augustin who is a business man in Gulu town. She is a peasant farmer and she and her husband work very hard together to provide for their large family.

The 20 year war has been very hard on her. Her oldest son was killed by the LRA rebels in 1997 and all the joy went out of her life. It was her faith and the church that got her through. She is happy now that peace is coming and that her children are in school again and she wants to make sure they stay there. This is actually her prayer for all the children in the community.

She is now looking to start a small charcoal business to earn the money to keep the children in school. She can purchase charcoal from the nearby village and sell it in town for a good profit. She chose this type of business because the demand for charcoal is constant and since the population is growing with people returning from the camps, the demand will only get higher.

She is seeking a loan in the amount of 250,000/= to start her business and she will be able to repay this loan in 6 months.
