Loan use: buying amotor cycle.

Loan Loan term: 12 months

Loan amount: 1,500,000UgX

Akena is a married man with two kids. He has been operating a phone set as well as working as a carpenter and to supplement his income he works as the manager incharge of production at Life in Africa Gulu. Currently Micheal is in charge of the construction of the new LiA location in Gulu. He is happy with the Life in Africa program was please with the first Kiva loan he got which helped him set up the phone business. This has greatly changed his standard of living and his family life. He can now raise over 300,000=ushs a month for a living.

He would now like to expand his business by purchasing and running a boda boda service. With more and more people returning to the Gulu area a boda boda becomes a good investment. He would operate it partly himself but would also hire someone to work which would provide a job.

He is seeking a loan in the amount of 1,500,000= to buy a amoto-cycle. After expenses he will earn a minimum of 50,000ushs out of the operation. He plans to repay the Loan in 12 months and he will use his savings to add to the loan for other things like hiring someone and fuel for the start of the business.

His loan Budget is as below:

Bajaz(moto bike).............................1,500,000/=

wage...................................................8,000 @day

Fuel...................................................10,000=@day

Total:................................................. 1,518,000/=
