Due to the rising number of vehicles for private, Governent and NOGs`, Motorbikes specifically for Bodabodas, and Bisycles . The rates of accidents in Gulu is rising steadily.

The most catagory of people affected in the accident are Primary and Nursary kids, Elders and the people with disabilities. At times when the accident has occured, the dreivers will run away leaving the victimto suffer or die alone. The victims also if you do not have th close realative around or the information did not reach your place very fast, you may suffer there.

To rescue this situation, I feel like Lia can do some thing as to reduce the rates of accident withing the town area and along the highway roads .

HOW:

Through some support , Lia can join hands with District Taffic officer, Uganda Red Cross Society, Heads of Driving schools where drivers come from and the Media to go sensitising about road safety and traffic rules.

The children who are benefiting from school fees programe can be trainned to go and sensitise other kids and local communities about road safety and traffic rules. This can be done through chlid to child message on media together with Red Cross , Troffic police Officers and Heads of Drving schools.or can also be through visiting primary schools and prsenting to them.

Also if money is foundraised, a vihycle for Lia can be put inplace to respond to any Emmergency accident taking to the Hospital.

Lia Volunteers can also be trainned on fist aids and consolation services. Also the Zebra crossing can be put as may as posible and Traffic ligths can be put in Place (Major junctions)

If all the above is done, am sure the rates of accident can be reduced and awareness is created to the commmunities about the dangers of road accidents.
