**GULU SOAP WORKS** ========== With peace on the horizon, Northern Uganda's war affected population is now ready, able and eager to start rebuilding the local economy. Following a fun online collaboration to fine-tune the project plan, **Life in Africa** community members in Gulu are now seeking start up funds to produce and market liquid soap in the region. Scroll on down for the full proposal. **Comments or questions?** Please join us in the `Soap Project Development Discussion`_ .. image:: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/220/463261376_c3201cb2bb_m.jpg .. contents:: .. _`Soap Project Development Discussion`: http://www.ned.com/group/neduganda/news/1/ Project Name =============== Gulu Soap Works Project Location =============== .. image:: http://www.ned.com/group/neduganda/file/5.25.11903342255/get/plainlogojpg100x120.jpg **WE Center Gulu** (Northern Uganda) Project Description =============== Gulu Soap Works is a community owned, community run liquid soap making business. In a vote for the most fundable idea at that event, Munnu's project didn't win. But the idea didn't die, and Munnu didn't give up. In the months since then, the global community of supporters who now gather at ned.com have excitedly offered ideas, guidance and moral support, while Munnu has learned everything he could about soap making and worked with Life in Africa community members in Gulu to fine-tune the community soap-making plan. `Feedback`_, `kudos`_ and `friendly pokes`_ to Munnu are definitely well deserved!
