I was talking with someone near the top of one of the most interesting management schools in the USA if not the world and he said you mean you think Dr Yunus would like me to ask if we could help him with content on how to change what MBAs are taught
to which I say : yes I mean that
to which he says: if you think that's what he wants we can definitely try to help him
--so I guess I had better continue ringing round heads of business schools asking if they have any plans to collaborate with France's SMBA lead:

on to stuff which in one sense is more at ground level, but perhaps even more fun to do if you feel so- I have been trying to work on http://collaborationcafe.blogspo t.com with the 2 principles:
-a different collaboration theme, which one or more of you have kindly talked about collaborationng on, in each historic month (ie forget the dates and lets use the rest of the free web that a blog structure offers)
-if a city or indeed a subgroup likes some of te themes but not others they can always take the code and start a paralel blog
it needs more work, co-editing, both ooncollaboration topics I havent digested yet and to make it clearer what next steps are on stuff itemised but anyhow here's the menu for starters

dec 2007- can youth poverty be ended in usa and indeed will it be a deciding election agenda - I have borrowed from Darryl's energy on this: I have to say that I dont quite believe Darryl's web will work as is, though with some tweaks it could certainly do something, and of course I'd be most happy to be wrong; if I understand his logic he both wants to transfer current charity giving in usa - if 15% of all charity went to youth in poverty that would fix basic needs if I hear him right as well as expand charity giving. I feel the privacy photos dont really work and that it will be neccessary to partner some of the established childrens charities. But i certainly think the web is an extraordinary demonstrtaion of the issue of being a click away from ending youth poverty, a talking point many action groups could get fired up by- and I congratulate Darryl on getting a 30 minute slot with bronx tv to elaborate on this

nov 07 Africa Transparency Resources- Spencer is volunteering to be inbox for nominations of who cares locally about African countries among your peers. Collab cafe started in NY with the African transparency and end malaria and community impact analysis work of Peter (and Spencer) so I look forward to this section brewing with any flows we can bring. Over in London diaspora networks we have a lot of deep and hopefully synergetic work coordinated by Lesley.

here I am hoping that marriah will add in suggestions from his recent mail that sounded briilliant; I am not quite sure which of the focal points he identified are happy to be named in a blog so I havent transferred his post directly but I feel there is a huge momentum around social actions coming from:
*what marriah has suggested
*the dialogues between eg yunus and youth particularly on chapter 11 of his book
*the // social action uni of Bill Clinton - whilst I take quite a lot of the wickets of BC as way above my league, it did seem that a major thrust of his 500 student conference at new orleans was to tell them its ok to ask university staff for help in developing community building outreach

postcards from Dhaka
we have 4 people on this circulation list visiting Dhaka in the next 8 weeks doing work (Rachel already there and alexis from new york and mostofa and mark from london) at either ASA or Grameen and also in touch with BRAC university; we look forward to a few postcards from this most practical and heroic place on ending poverty, building community banks , and as Intel announced earlier this week laboratory for what the www can do in connecting the 3 billion people which the first 20 years of the www has given almost no interactive inclusion to http://news.google.com/news?hl=e n&um=1&tab=wn&q=%2By unus+OR+grameen+OR+BRAC+OR++chow dhury+%2Btelecentre+OR+solutions +OR+telecenter+%2Bgates+OR+intel +OR+cisco++OR+schmidt+OR+google& amp;btnG=Search+News

within reason I am happy to open sponsor the cutting of such a compendium if we can vote in the content
anyhow these are how a sample of ideas are shaping up -and I know its just a first stab to see if a step forward or back -
if your biggest collaboration invitation isnt covered either ask to become an editor of the blog or tell one of the editors what it is
cheers
