Ive been to busy to even get my own discussion thread started lately. Our most recent big deadline will be finished today, when we ship our largest order ever to Goody's.

So, in a few weeks, Made By Survivor products will be in I think over 300 stores (im not sure how many they have). This will be part of their new Ashley Judd collection, so a big thanks to Ashley for helping us get this started.

Love the tag!! It is not only beautiful but it converys the cause/message and in the end, thats what its all about.

What is the actual size of the tag and how do you attach it to the product?

The products in our first run are all paper journals so these are 3x4 and inside the shrink rap. We use a same size tag on our clothing and bags (and are changing to this kind of design). We are creating a smaller tag for jewelry but dont have it yet so we put the 3x4 tag in the box.

One crazy lesson learned from this order was that we should have shipped the tags to Nepal and had them put in there - it took a lot of voulnteer time in the last few days to get this done. But this whole order came fast so were reacting quickly.

Ashley wanted to use Apne Aap bags, since it is though Apne Aap that she found us, but they did not have the production capacity to meet the order timing. We are working on improving that so we can add more product types to this kind of deal.

Great! And now the numbers? Are you guys going to make enough to pay the bills and then some...? Maybe don't forget to put a special welcome on your website's homepage to welcome Ashley Judd/Goody's shoppers. Something like an image and text:

Buy an MBS product at Goody's? Click here.

Might help you collect some data (a good stats-tracker can give you some real-time data on geography, etc). Nothing you couldn't figure out from the sales receipts I guess...

Looks like your joomlaman needs to clean up some code "barf" (as Mark once called it) on your homepage ;)

Hey, it was code barf on Tom M's site that made me email the webmaster (Tom, who I didn't know at the time) who pointed me inside o/net on 9/22/04 which, well...got us here I guess.

Yeah, Lars makes some great points (pretty marketing savvy for an arts guy). Riffing off of Lars, if you can I'd offer the Goody's Shoppers something "free" on the label special for Goody People, if they visit your site and enter a "coupon code". Just make the free something be a song, or ebook, or online video. (a digital product you can afford to give away free).

sUpercongrats John! that sounds like it should be a very lucrative partnership for all involved...very happy to hear it and love the tags!

Lars - are you saying you see code problems at - http://www.madebysurvivors.com/ ???

And its Drupal/

The numbers for this order are good, but margins are below our normal as we also saw this as a PR opportunity.

Overall we are still in a very cash tight time. Getting rid of staff this summer has made it harder to keep up with party bookings so I dont think our party sales will be as high as we planned, which will leave us with excess inventory unless our internet marketing plans exceed expectations. It is going to be tight, but would be fine if we could sell our house, as that is the problem that is most likely to kill us.

Oh whoops - your drupal site has code problems - looks like an open javascript tag:

image

also, the left body text margin (a /div tag) could use a little more padding...

CONGRATS John! This is great news. The tag looks fabulous, too! Annemarie invited me to a TEN online party, so the ball is rolling!

I was given a journal as a gift, (thank you, my sister) and I can say that the tags are perfect, and the journal is beatiful.

Great stuff happenning here!!

Hey John! I placed an order this morning on your website but I couldn't find the holiday cards depicted in the Holiday and Home Decor link on the catalog page?

Ahh - they are sold out. Sorry! Next year we will order a lot more.

John - I'm glad you'll be ordering a lot more next year; there is definitely a strong market given you are sold out before December. (excellent)

And Meron ... you've given me another smile for the day. I emailed John with my ditzy "I can't find the Christmas cards" message a couple of days ago :)

Excellent for you! sucks for me :( Beautiful cards. I was laid up for a bit so am behind in my holiday preparations. Will have to be quicker next year! Hope this Christmas is a good one for TEN.
