Our mission is to Make Poverty History, but bottom-up: we will
- use the internet to link up rich and poor communities across the world via a Worldwide Connectory.
- provide almost half the world's population with new virtual neighbours every five years.
- create grassroots outreach on a global scale.
We believe that by sharing out the world, we can bring it much closer together.
Each country is followed by the number of portions it has been divided into.
Click on a country to see the sub-divisions into which it has been broken down
20 WORLD ZONES ( population in millions)
World Zones contain only developed countries and each will be sub-divided into 120 partner areas
The nonprofitslist aims to say exactly where non profits are working
- Please add your favourite organisations to the nonprofitslist. Many international development non-profits (or charities) are local to individual List B countries, although they may be doing invaluable work in a number of List A countries around the world. Usually they operate in partnership with CBOs (Community Based Organisations) in these List A countries. Our nonprofitslist should ideally contain as many of these non profits and CBOs as possible, cross-indexed so they can be located:
- by organisation (alphabetically)
- by country
- by partner area
- Please edit the nonprofitslist to cross-reference organisations, countries & places
Many WWC Documents need to be translated
- Please offer help with translations
Everyone's views count
- Check out the Kindling enthusiasm for the Worldwide Connectory, Plan B and First allocation of WCP partnerships (to last until 2015) discussion threads and add your thoughts there and in the associated Kindling workspace
The first pilot partnership is between Area 2227 (parts of Kampala, Uganda) and Area 8192 (parts of Houston, Texas)
See Plan B for discussions about how to develop this pilot and use the Plan B Workspace for gathering data, jotting down ideas and commenting on them & making plans and designing campaigns
- For further information about any of these activities, please send message to Jon Alexander or David Bale
