About

I am interested in eradicating global poverty, and promoting sustainability.

By "poverty" I mean a lack of resources which prevents someone from having a full, satisfying life.

By "sustainability" I mean the earth becoming measurably and enduringly more fertile and hospitable to most existing lifeforms.

My approach to these issues at the moment is to see if I can arrange my life in such a way that I could recommend it to everyone. That is, I want to have a high quality of life, such that people are attracted to that and want to learn how to do it, AND I want my resource usage to be sustainable if 10 billion humans all lived like me.

So for instance, owning and driving a personal car isn't going to work, unless I can figure out how to make one out of recycled materials, that runs on renewable energy, with zero emissions. Even then, I am assuming the average travel per person will have to be far less than what most people like me are used to. And to accomplish that while still having a high quality of life, I am going to explore intentional communities.
