<p>Before I left to come here to western Thailand I made arrangements to get a mobile modem that use the mobile phone network so that I would be ableto access the net for many reasons.</p>
<p>Guess what? It doesn't work here. There are <strong>NO</strong> internet cafes. (at least within 2 hours)</p>
<p>I have bartered for use of the school internet connection and have to teach 3.5 hours for them next week.</p>
<p>I am living with 120 Karen girls from 5 to 15. These girls are diligent and work unbelievably. They have no adult supervision and the only real service provided for them is a cook who was hired by a friend of mine to prepare 2 meals a day for them. The cost is a lot and the food is not sufficient. I feel like I have to figure out a way to get them a proper diet. There are about 80 boys who live at the Temple.</p>
<p>The situation requires more time than I have on a connection that is as slow and as reliable as the Ugandan connections.</p>
<p>I think of all of you and wish I could talk to you and get your input. Please don't forget me while I am gone.</p>

<p>You are only there for 6 weeks. You could be away for 6 years and you wouldn't be "forgotten" - not for a minute!!</p>
<p>(....and I'm missing you like crazy)</p>
<p>The girls' nutrition issue is a huge worry. Is there good quality food available or is lack of availability the actual problem?</p>
<p>(ie: Is this a money problem or a produce problem?)</p>
<p>I feel a bit ill at the thought of 5 year olds having no supervision or help but it certainly sounds like (as a group) they are amazingly
resourceful and resilient kids.</p>
<p>I have so many questions ..... but you won't have the connection to answer them and it will just drive you nuts! :)</p>

<p>There is food available there is just no money.</p>
<p>The children are truly amazing. They endure gracefully and graciously.</p>
<p>Things have been cut short. I will likely be back in civilization (in Bangkok on April 2 and back in Ubon by April 5. The childrens' schedule has changed and they will only be available to work with us until April 1.</p>
<p>Off to teach English Camp.</p>
<p>Miss all of you a lot.</p>
